- Monitor post-surgical recovery, manage complications, and provide ongoing care to patients.

- Develop skills in surgical techniques, patient care, and decision-making processes.
- Mentor and support medical students and junior colleagues during the training process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Document patient care, including treatment plans, procedures performed, and outcomes.
- Participate in the on-call rota to manage emergency cases, including facial trauma, infections, and other urgent maxillofacial conditions.
Requirements

- Completion of foundation years (F1 and F2) or equivalent before applying for the CT1-2 program.
- Previous clinical experience, especially in general surgery, medicine, or dentistry, is often beneficial.
- Some programs may also require previous experience in other surgical specialties.
- Strong interest in both medicine and dentistry with the ability to integrate knowledge across these fields.
- Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to perform thorough assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
- Ability to handle difficult and complex clinical cases with professionalism.
- Some positions may require additional qualifications such as an undergraduate dental degree (BDS) for those pursuing dual medical and dental qualifications.
- Depending on the country or program, applicants may need to pass specific exams or meet other criteria to be eligible for the CT1-2 program in OMFS.
