Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Consultant CAMHS Doctor to join our Inpatient Unit based in Bodmin. This is a 40-hour onsite role, providing specialist mental health care to young people with complex needs. The position may be extended based on service requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for young people in the inpatient unit.
- Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, ensuring coordinated and high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including risk management strategies.
- Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Work closely with families, carers, and external agencies to support holistic patient care.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and training to junior doctors and MDT members.
- Participate in service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- GMC registration with a license to practice.
- Section 12 (S12) approval is essential.
- Approved Clinician (AC) status is preferred.
- Experience working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in an inpatient setting.
