SHO – Emergency Department
Job Overview
We are seeking a SHO Doctor to join our Emergency Department, providing high-quality acute and emergency care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves assessing and managing a wide range of urgent and critical cases while working closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma-related conditions.
- Perform resuscitation and stabilization of critically ill or injured patients under consultant supervision.
- Support and supervise junior doctors and medical students, ensuring safe clinical practice.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, paramedics, and specialty teams.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and contribute to patient care plans.
- Participate in on-call duties, audits, and teaching sessions to support departmental learning and improvement.
- Manage patient flow efficiently to help maintain the smooth operation of the Emergency Department.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and specialist teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and GMC guidelines.
Requirements
- Recent UK A&E experience is essential.
- A&E references must be provided.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills in emergency and acute care settings.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a multidisciplinary team.
