Job Overview

We are seeking two experienced Band 8b Safeguarding Practitioners to work across both Adult and Child Safeguarding Teams in a clinical role. These positions require appropriate professional registration and completion of all STAM (Safeguarding Training and Management) training. The successful candidates will play a key role in managing complex safeguarding cases, providing expert clinical leadership, and ensuring compliance with national safeguarding policies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex safeguarding cases, ensuring effective risk assessment, intervention, and protection for vulnerable adults and children.
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to healthcare professionals, ensuring best safeguarding practices are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and policies, including the Children’s Act, Care Act, and NHS safeguarding frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including social services, law enforcement, and partner organisations.
  • Participate in and lead strategy meetings, case conferences, and safeguarding panels.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding policies, protocols, and service improvements.
  • Deliver training, education, and supervision to healthcare professionals on safeguarding best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to data protection laws.

Requirements

  • Registered Healthcare Professional (NMC, HCPC, or equivalent) – Clinical Role.
  • Completion of all STAM (Safeguarding Training and Management) training.
  • Extensive safeguarding experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of legislation, policies, and best safeguarding practices.
  • Proven ability to lead safeguarding investigations and collaborate with multi-agency teams.
  • Experience in policy development, service improvement, and staff training.
  • Excellent risk assessment, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
