TB Nurse Specialist (Band 6)
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced TB Nurse Specialist with a strong background in tuberculosis (TB) nursing and screening to join our team. The role involves managing TB cases, conducting screenings, delivering immunisations, and working within community and infection control settings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in TB management, clinical protocols, and multidisciplinary teamwork, ensuring high-quality patient care and disease prevention.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist TB nursing care, including screening, diagnosis, and management of TB cases.
- Conduct patient assessments and deliver TB treatment plans in community and acute settings.
- Implement and adhere to clinical protocols, PGDs, and care pathways for TB management.
- Administer immunisations and BCG vaccinations in line with screening programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care.
- Deliver health education and awareness programs on TB prevention and infection control.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for documentation and reporting.
- Work autonomously and demonstrate flexibility in clinical situations to meet patient needs.
- Participate in the development and improvement of TB services, ensuring best practices are followed.
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) Qualification with current NMC registration.
- Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
- Post-registration experience in a community or acute setting.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in TB management and screening programs.
- Experience in developing clinical protocols, PGDs, and care pathways.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility and adaptability in delivering patient care across various settings.
- Ability to undertake immunisations and infection control measures effectively.
