Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Inpatient Wards team within the MCSI (Medical Clinical Services Inpatient) unit. The role involves providing high-quality care to patients who are admitted to our inpatient wards, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their stay. The RN will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care and assist in the management of various medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide compassionate and effective nursing care to patients in the inpatient wards, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety, comfort, and dignity.
- Assessment & Monitoring: Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' physical and emotional health. Monitor vital signs, administer treatments, and assess patients' responses to therapies.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications as prescribed, following protocols and documenting all medication administration accurately.
- Care Planning: Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans, in collaboration with the clinical team and patients’ families.
- Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Team: Work alongside doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of holistic care for each patient.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Wound Care & Dressing: Perform wound care and dressing changes as required, ensuring proper infection control practices are followed.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies and legal requirements.
- Advocacy: Advocate for patients’ needs and ensure that their rights are respected, promoting a patient-centered approach to care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or deteriorating conditions, utilizing advanced nursing skills and protocols.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
- Relevant Clinical Experience: Experience in an inpatient ward or acute care setting is preferred.
- Clinical Competence: Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients with diverse medical conditions.
- Patient-Centered Approach: Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and improving patient outcomes.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Specialized Training or Certification in areas such as Cardiology, Neurology, or Critical Care (depending on ward specialization).
- Experience in Acute Care Settings or previous work in a similar inpatient role.
- Mentorship Skills: Ability to mentor and support junior staff and nursing students
