Paediatrics SHO
Job Overview
We are seeking a Paediatrics SHO to join a fast-paced and supportive paediatric unit, providing high-quality care to neonates, infants, and children. The role involves working under consultant supervision in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings, managing acute and routine paediatric cases.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric patients in A&E, paediatric wards, and neonatal units.
- Assist in the stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill children and neonates.
- Perform clinical procedures such as cannulation, lumbar punctures, and airway management.
- Participate in paediatric and neonatal emergencies, supporting senior medical staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to patient handovers.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring holistic and safe patient care.
- Engage in clinical audits, training, and continuous professional development.
Requirements
- GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
- Must hold valid Paediatric Life Support (PLS) and Neonatal Life Support (NLS) certifications.
- Experience in paediatrics or neonatology is desirable.
- Strong ability to work in high-pressure emergency settings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Must work via PWC DE (applications outside this will not be considered).
