Dermatology Consultant
Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Dermatology Consultant to join our dynamic team, providing expert care for a wide range of dermatological conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in both the outpatient and inpatient care of patients with skin disorders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and evidence-based clinical services.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert dermatological care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of various skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, acne, skin cancers, and other complex dermatological conditions.
- Conduct outpatient clinics, including consultations, follow-ups, and performing dermatological procedures.
- Participate in the inpatient management of dermatology cases, including complex and severe skin conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care, including working alongside nurses, physiotherapists, and other specialists.
- Provide leadership and supervision to junior doctors, residents, and medical students.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of dermatology services and patient care pathways.
- Engage in research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives related to dermatology.
- Provide educational support and training for staff and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in on-call services as required.
Requirements
- Evidence of entry on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT at the time of the interview.
- Extensive experience in clinical dermatology, with proficiency in managing a broad range of dermatological conditions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior medical staff.
- A passion for patient care and continuous improvement in dermatology services.
- Active participation in research and academic activities is desirable.
