Job Overview
We are seeking a Paediatric SHO to join a dynamic and supportive medical team, providing high-quality care to children in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating paediatric patients, supporting consultants and registrars in delivering safe and effective patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments, take patient histories, and perform examinations of paediatric patients.
- Assist in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions in children.
- Support consultants and registrars in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and emergency care.
- Respond to paediatric emergencies, stabilize patients, and initiate appropriate treatment.
- Interpret diagnostic tests, including blood tests, imaging, and other investigations.
- Prescribe and administer medications under supervision.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in teaching sessions, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- Previous experience in paediatrics or a strong interest in developing skills in this specialty.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, manage workloads, and make clinical decisions under supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
