Job Overview
We are seeking a Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist to manage a diverse caseload of children with motor coordination difficulties, rheumatology issues, behavioral challenges, and neurological/genetic conditions. The role covers clinic, school, and home visits across Chorley and South Ribble, focusing on functional assessments, intervention planning, and equipment reviews.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments using BOT, DASH, VMI, clinical observations, and Oxford 24/7 postural management tools.
- Provide specialist interventions to support motor skills, hand function, and environmental adaptations for children aged 3 to teenage years.
- Engage in triage conversations, risk assessments, and parent consultations to determine needs and priorities.
- Offer guidance and signpost families to universal and targeted resources.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to promote children's independence and participation.
Requirements
- HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience in paediatrics.
- Knowledge of DCD, ASD, ADHD, neurological, and rheumatological conditions.
- Experience in equipment assessments, postural management, and behavior-focused interventions.
- Ability to work independently in community settings across Chorley and South Ribble.
