Stroke SPR (Medical Registrar ST3+)
Job Overview
We are seeking a Stroke SPR (Medical Registrar ST3+) to join our dedicated Stroke Medicine team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the acute management, rehabilitation, and long-term care of stroke patients while also contributing to service development, education, and quality improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care to stroke patients in both acute and rehabilitative settings.
- Participate in acute stroke management, including thrombolysis and TIA clinics.
- Conduct ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and support multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
- Work closely with consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Engage in on-call duties as required.
- Contribute to clinical teaching, training, and supervision of junior doctors.
- Support research, audits, and service improvement projects to enhance stroke care delivery.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in Stroke Medicine, General Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatrics.
- Prior NHS or UK hospital setting experience.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, with excellent decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with the wider MDT.
