Consultant Respiratory - Medicine
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Respiratory to join our Medicine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care in respiratory medicine, including managing complex respiratory conditions, leading service development, and offering specialist expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist care in respiratory medicine for patients with complex lung conditions.
- Lead and participate in diagnostic procedures including bronchoscopy, pulmonary function tests, and thoracic ultrasound.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and develop individualized care plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior medical staff and contribute to their training and professional development.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and the development of best practice guidelines.
- Participate in on-call rotas and provide support for acute respiratory cases.
- Engage in research, teaching, and service development within the field of respiratory medicine.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration with entry on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining CCT (or evidence that CESR has been submitted).
- Extensive clinical experience in Respiratory Medicine, including managing complex cases and diagnostic procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-working skills.
- Level 1 accreditation in thoracic ultrasound.
