Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Stroke Consultant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have clinical expertise in Stroke Medicine, as well as experience in Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatrics, and will contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to stroke patients across all stages of treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide expert care for patients with acute stroke and post-stroke rehabilitation.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide clinical expertise in managing complex stroke cases, including thrombolysis and thrombectomy.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.
  • Engage in teaching, training, and research within the specialty.

Requirements

  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Clinical experience in Stroke Medicine, with additional experience in Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatrics.
  • NHS or UK hospital setting experience.
  • Full GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register in Stroke Medicine (or within six months of CCT).
