Consultant Rheumatology – Medicine
Job Overview
We are seeking two Substantive Consultant Rheumatologists to join our dynamic team. One post offers a combination of Rheumatology and Acute Medicine, while the second focuses solely on Rheumatology. The successful candidates will play a key role in providing expert care, leading service development, and contributing to education and research.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist Rheumatology care, including outpatient and inpatient services.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders.
- One post will include duties in Acute Medicine, supporting the acute medical team.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists and specialist nurses.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement, and research initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotas, as required by the department.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register for Rheumatology (or within six months of attaining CCT).
- Experience in Rheumatology, with additional Acute Medicine expertise for the combined post.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
