Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Consultant to provide expert care in gastrointestinal disorders, endoscopic procedures, and hepatology. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care, supervising junior staff, and contributing to service development, research, and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Lead the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal and liver diseases.
- Perform endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
- Provide specialist input for inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services.
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and multidisciplinary team members.
- Contribute to service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the on-call rota and support emergency gastroenterology care.
- Engage in teaching, training, and research within the specialty.
Requirements
- Full GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register in Gastroenterology (or within six months of attaining CCT).
- Extensive experience in gastrointestinal disorders, endoscopy, and hepatology.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
