Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Care for the Elderly to join a multidisciplinary team, providing expert care for older adults with complex health needs. The role involves managing a wide range of conditions related to aging, such as frailty, dementia, and mobility issues, while leading both inpatient and outpatient care.
Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment: Diagnose and manage conditions affecting older adults, focusing on improving quality of life and independence.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a multidisciplinary team, working with nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers to deliver holistic care.
- Outpatient and Inpatient Care: Provide care in both settings, focusing on continuity of care for elderly patients.
- Teaching & Research: Contribute to the education of junior doctors and participate in research and service development to improve care for the elderly.
Requirements
- GMC Specialist Registration in Geriatrics (or eligibility within 6 months of CCT).
- Expertise in the management of elderly patients with multiple comorbidities and frailty.
- Commitment to leadership, teaching, and research in elderly care.
