Job Overview
The Specialist Registrar (SPR) in Emergency Medicine plays a key role in delivering high-quality acute care in a busy UK A&E department. This role requires recent UK A&E experience and strong references from emergency medicine consultants, ensuring candidates have the clinical competence and decision-making skills needed for senior-level emergency care.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Clinical Management: Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with medical, surgical, and trauma emergencies.
- Resuscitation & Critical Care: Lead in the management of critically ill and injured patients, following ALS, ATLS, and APLS guidelines.
- Supervision & Teaching: Support junior doctors, nurses, and medical students, contributing to training and education in emergency medicine.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside consultants, nurses, paramedics, and allied health professionals to provide timely and effective care.
- Governance & Quality Improvement: Participate in audits, clinical governance meetings, and service development initiatives to enhance patient safety and efficiency.
Requirements
- Recent UK A&E experience, demonstrating competency in emergency medicine.
- A&E references from UK-based emergency consultants confirming clinical skills and suitability for the role.
- GMC registration.
- ALS/ATLS/APLS certification.
