Medical Registrar (ST3+)
Job Overview
As a Medical Registrar (ST3+) Day On-Call, you will be responsible for providing senior medical support during daytime shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care in acute and general medicine. This role is crucial for maintaining patient safety, managing medical emergencies, and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities

Assess and manage acute medical admissions, ensuring timely treatment and escalation where necessary.

Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior doctors (FY1, FY2, CT1-2).

Attend and contribute to ward rounds, handovers, and multidisciplinary meetings.

Review deteriorating patients and make decisions on escalation of care, including ICU referrals if needed.

Work closely with consultants, specialist teams, and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

Support safe discharge planning and communicate effectively with primary care teams.

Participate in audits, teaching, and service improvement initiatives.
Requirements

ST3+ level (or equivalent) in General Internal Medicine or a relevant specialty.

Full GMC registration with a license to practice.

Experience in managing acutely unwell medical patients.

ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification preferred.
